Grapevine is Gather’s newest product, providing rich context for AI agents to navigate the tools used for work (e.g., Slack, Notion, GitHub) and structure the knowledge for those agents. This is the holy grail opportunity for the AI ecosystem, and we believe our insight will help us pull it off.

Role Overview

As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer on Grapevine, you will build the core search algorithm and evaluation framework for our knowledge base system. You will solve novel, unsolved challenges of designing search algorithms for agents rather than humans, from ideation to implementation and results.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the core search algorithm across unstructured knowledge, improving Grapevine’s ability to reason over difficult questions.
• Design increasingly complex and general evaluations to define new goals to surpass.
• Tune how new information sources are incorporated into Grapevine’s knowledge.
• Create digestion systems to extract vital information from unstructured data.
• Mentor and inspire other engineers to think creatively about AI applications.

Qualifications

Salary

US base salary range : $188,700 – $238,000 annually. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, and location. The role is eligible for stock rewards reflective of an early‑stage startup.
