Our client is currently seeking a qualified Windows 11 Migration Technician to join their team remotely and provide end-user support.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Collaborate with the Windows 11 Migration Project Manager, application owners, and end users to create and execute migration and mitigation plans
Conduct compatibility testing of applications in Windows 11, including testing in compatibility mode
Develop and implement upgrade procedures, including detailed user acceptance testing (UAT) plans
Troubleshoot technical issues encountered during the migration process and escalate unresolved problems to the client's IT team
Work with application owners to review, approve, and document system changes
Coordinate all activities related to change management, ensuring proper communication and documentation
Migrate applications and systems into the live production environment following validation and testing
If applications cannot be upgraded, perform risk assessments, test isolation procedures, and safely remove applications and devices from the client's network
Potentially travel to client sites to assist with on-site implementation, testing, and stakeholder approvals for migration strategies
Skills and Qualifications :
Minimum 3+ years of experience in IT system migrations, upgrades, or application testing projects
Strong understanding of Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments, including compatibility and performance testing
Hands-on experience with application packaging, patching, and deployment
Familiarity with change management processes and ITIL-based workflows
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with technical teams and business users
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a remote environment
Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site migration and testing support
Experience with SCCM / MECM, Intune, or other deployment tools preferred
Prior involvement in enterprise OS migration projects (e.g., Windows 10 ? 11) preferred
Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and end-user computing environments preferred
ITIL or CompTIA certification preferred but not required
Wage Range :
The rate for this position is between $26.00 - $31.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography / market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
