Job Description (General Summary)

Prime Shrimp, a division of Laitram Machinery, Inc. has a position available for a Quality Assurance Technician. The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for the quality, food safety and aesthetics of the product. The QC Technicians follow through on set processes and ensure adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and product quality standards.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Responsibilities

Monitor and verify critical control points.

Monitor product food safety and quality parameters throughout the manufacturing process.

Perform sanitation verification on equipment and other required areas.

Record and file all relevant records, logs and documentation.

Record production metrics and inform relevant leads on deficiencies.

Ensure the correct recipe guidelines for products are met during processing.

Ensure employees are following all food safety and worker safety practices.

  • Collect product samples.

Perform inspections on products, equipment and machinery.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Prior experience in food processing or manufacturing environment.

Strong attention to detail.

Self-motivated, positive attitude and ability work in a team environment.

Good written and oral communication skills.

Proficient with MS Office.

Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment effectively under pressure.

Ability to work as scheduled, including overtime and weekends as required.

Follow the Department's attendance policy

Follow all safety procedures and policies.

Perform housekeeping duties as required.

Work overtime and on weekends as required

Exhibit teamwork and self-management practices.

Must be able to perform the job responsibilities noted above, including the ability to lift 40 pounds.

Desired Qualifications

2 years working knowledge of food production facility operations and GMPs.
