Engineering Manager 2
The Model Based Engineering Department (E92) is seeking an Engineering Manager 2 to lead the development of digital engineering capabilities that will support the delivery of digital design products to the government. This role will be responsible for overseeing the development of a cloud-based environment that securely houses and manages carrier model files, ensuring seamless integration and utilization throughout the vessel's lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead a team in creating requirements for a cloud-based environment that meets the needs of the U.S. Navy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business requirements and facilitate program conversations
- Serve as the primary interface between NNS and the U.S. Navy, ensuring effective communication and meeting customer needs
- Develop and implement digital design disclosure strategies to ensure secure data delivery
- Oversee the development and maintenance of cloud-based digital engineering capabilities using Siemens PLM and design tools
- Lead a group of engineers in the development and implementation of digital engineering solutions
Ideal Candidate :
Proven experience in cloud-based engineering environments, with a focus on Siemens PLM and design toolsStrong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and stakeholdersExperience in defining business requirements and facilitating program conversationsAbility to meet customer needs and ensure secure data deliveryStrong technical knowledge of digital engineering capabilities and cloud-based environmentsMust Have :
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design; Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience.Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.Nice to Have :
