A single percent of improvement drives profound change to every corner of the world-from the cost of our goods, to the livelihoods of local communities, to even the impact on our environment. To reshape the industry, at TruckSmarter, our focus is first on truck drivers. Trucks move 71% of freight in America (~$800bn annually) & the trucking industry represents nearly 6% of the full-time jobs in the country. If you look around you, every item has sat on a truck at one point on its journey to you. However, despite the industry being one of the greatest levers of innovation throughout history, it is still deeply fragmented & structurally misaligned. Our mission is to fix that-and we need your help.

The Role

We're looking for senior platform engineers to help us build the foundation that enables TruckSmarter's vision of eliminating inefficiencies across the freight industry. You'll architect and maintain the systems that keep our platform fast, resilient, and cost-efficient, and be deeply involved in designing core services, improving developer velocity, and building infrastructure that supports both traditional and AI-based workloads.

In this role, you will :

• Design and evolve the core platform architecture, including core application frameworks and abstractions, powering TruckSmarter's systems.
• Build and scale the infrastructure that powers our traditional ML and agentic-AI systems.
• Build and maintain reliable infrastructure across AWS (ECS Fargate, RDS, S3, WAF, Redshift, DMS, and related services) using IaC (CDK, Terraform).
• Define and automate deployment pipelines, CI / CD, and observability frameworks.
• Lead security initiatives to ensure compliance, harden systems, and improve access controls.
• Mentor engineers on best practices in reliability, automation, and performance engineering.
• Drive incident response and postmortem culture to increase resilience and operational excellence.

Working model : TruckSmarter offers an in-office collaborative culture. This role is based out of our downtown San Francisco office, and requires in-office presence three days per week (typically Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays).
