Job Title R&D Ops & Measurement Sciences Associate Scientist (Contractor)
Job Description Join PepsiCo s R&D Operations and Measurement Sciences team supporting the PepsiCo Foods North America (PFNA) Foods portfolio. This contractor role focuses on delivering analytical insights through testing food materials and ingredients. The scope includes both physical and chemical analyses supporting innovation productivity and ingredient functionality initiatives. You ll collaborate cross-functionally with product development operations and analytical teams to ensure high-quality data generation. The role offers exposure to a wide range of analytical techniques and provides opportunities for learning and growth in a broader laboratory testing and analytical sciences. Examples of responsibilities for an associate with this position are listed below. Conduct basic to advanced testing of food samples using internal capabilities. Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and analytical equipment Capture data using Laboratory Information Management Systems (e.g. LabVantage). Provide analytical insights to support product development innovation and productivity projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges related to ingredients and finished products. Support method development and validation for new and existing analytical techniques. Deliver accurate timely and cost-effective analytical results with minimal supervision. Train others and stay current with scientific literature IP and external organizations. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure reliability of measurement systems using GLP. Adhere to site Health & Safety and Good Laboratory Practice policies.
Qualifications /
Requirements BS degree in Analytical Chemistry Food Chemistry or related discipline. 3 years of experience in the Food & Beverage industry preferred. Hands-on experience in analytical food chemistry. Proficiency with Laboratory Information Management Systems and documentation tools. Strong knowledge of analytical techniques instrumentation and statistical analysis. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Effective communication and technical writing skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Understanding of safe handling of hazardous chemicals and lab safety protocols.
