Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Wound Care Discipline : RN Start Date : 10 / 27 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 37.5 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, days Employment Type : Travel We are seeking a knowledgeable and clinically skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care to join our healthcare team in New York. This specialized role focuses on the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of wound, ostomy, and continence care for patients across various units. The ideal candidate will bring strong Med / Surg experience along with specific expertise in wound and colostomy care, helping to improve patient outcomes through evidence-based interventions and interdisciplinary collaboration. Key Responsibilities : Provide expert wound, ostomy, and continence care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Conduct comprehensive skin and wound assessments and develop individualized care plans. Perform wound debridement, dressing changes, pressure injury prevention, and ostomy management. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care strategies. Educate patients, families, and clinical staff on wound care best practices and proper management techniques. Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory standards and infection control protocols. Required Skills & Experience : Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Medical-Surgical nursing . Demonstrated experience in wound and colostomy care . Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teaching abilities. Education Requirements : Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN or ADN) from an accredited nursing program. Licensure & Certifications : Active New York State RN License . Primary Source Verification of license and registration through the New York State Department of Education (NYSED) . AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current certification in one (1) of the following : Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) – WOCNCB Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) – WOCNCB Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) – WOCNCB Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) – ABWM Wound Care Certified (WCC) – NAWCO Preferred Qualifications : No additional preferred qualifications listed.
