Tax Technology and Transformation - SAP Tax Integration - Manager

Location : Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Hoboken, Houston, Iselin, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Washington

The objective of the Tax Technology and Transformation offering is to help businesses navigate the digital age of tax transparency alongside new trends in tax compliance and tax audit methods, as well as helping resolve the most pressing challenges that businesses face. Tax Technology and Transformation comprises the following services :

  • Digital tax transformation
  • SAP tax integration; s4 experience a plus (financials, PaPM, Analytics Cloud, DRC, etc.)
  • Direct and indirect tax systems implementation and configuration
  • Tax applications as a service
  • Tax data and improvement
  • Tax analytics and reporting enhancements
  • Emerging tax technology, including robotic process automation, artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud solutions, data lake development and business intelligence innovation
  • Tax technology program mobilization
  • Custom tax technology application development and deployment
  • Tax technology strategy and road maps
  • Post-transaction (M&A) tax function operational services
  • Tax operating model transformation, including process improvements, risk, and controls
  • Tax function assessments

Your Key Responsibilities

  • As a Manager in our SAP Tax Integration competency, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality tax technology services to multinational clients. You will :
  • Collaborate closely with partners, managing directors, senior managers and engagement teams to lead complex ERP tax integration projects, working across the entire end-to-end delivery lifecycle
  • Support the associated sales / pursuit process for new engagements
  • Help our clients leverage SAP technology and related third-party applications to realize enterprise value by improving their tax function (supporting and automating internal and external operations)
  • Be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously while developing and mentoring the next generation of tax professionals in our practice

  • Having an ability to understand key tax processes and translate those requirements into SAP
  • Working collaboratively with cross-functional tax, advisory and assurance teams
  • Providing input into thought leadership
  • Delivering quality work in alignment with key business metrics
  • To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree in information systems or a master's degree in Accounting, Tax Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
  • A minimum of five years of related experience
  • Approved technical certification, CPA license or membership to state Bar or progress to attaining those mentioned
  • A strong interest in technology and its use in business processes
  • Excellent communication and business writing skills
  • A natural flair for problem solving and an entrepreneurial approach to work
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with exceptional client-serving business skills
  • A demonstrated ability to successfully sell and deliver large enterprise programs
  • A broad understanding of tax accounting and major tax processes
  • Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment
  • Ideally, you'll also have

  • Experience implementing third-party direct or indirect tax systems (such as ONESOURCE, Corptax, Vertex, Avalara, Longview, etc.)
  • Experience defining data and reporting needs for a tax department
  • Enterprise resource planning (ERP) experience, including SAP or Oracle
  • Experience managing large, multidisciplinary projects that impact tax (e.g., ERP implementations, tax co-sourcing engagements, finance transformations)

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $125,400 to $230,100. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $150,600 to $261,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
