Facilities Building Maintenance Manager
Located at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the Facilities Building Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintaining the appearance and function of the Airport's 98 buildings, including a terminal facility with over 2 million square feet, in accordance with federal, state, local, and department requirements and standards, by scheduling and overseeing the work of employees performing essential maintenance and repair.

Minimum Qualifications
Required Education and Experience : Associate's degree with five years of experience or Bachelor's Degree with three years of related experience. Supervision Experience Required. Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.

Spends about 40% of the time standing, bending, reaching, walking, and driving. The rest of the time includes a combination of sitting, twisting, kneeling, squatting, crawling, lifting, shoveling, and carrying. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs. About 5% of time can lift, pull or carry up to 50 lbs a short distance, with another person. Works inside and outside. May include exposure to machinery, dust, chemicals, fumes, solvents, moving objects / vehicles, scaffolding, ladders, vibrating tools, excessive noise, large crowds and slippery or uneven surfaces. May use a variety of electrical and hand tools.
ADA and Other Requirements Positions in this class typically require grasping, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Physical Requirements : Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, standing, climbing, or walking extended periods of time. Moderate to heavy lifting and carrying; regular crouching, stooping, squatting, crawling, reaching, pushing, and pulling when performing tasks. Adequate vision, hearing, and speech required.
Sensory Requirements : Concentrated and attentive use of one or more senses (touch, visual, audio, and other sensory modalities) for mechanical work. Ability to operate in an environment with frequent interruptions from people and or noises, which in return could result in some level of stress, fatigue, or strain. Comprehensive of written information in work-related documents. Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech.
General Information
Primarily works standard office hours Monday through Friday. Work required at other times for supervision, training, special events, irregular operations, inclement weather, and emergencies. Subject to emergency call backs for work. This position is deemed essential. Valid driver license in state of residence and ability to obtain and maintain a City driving permit. Must successfully pass and maintain an active Security Threat Assessment (STA) and Criminal History Records Check (CHRC). Certain convictions will disqualify individuals from unescorted access privileges and therefore exclude from employment.
