About Us

Global Impact Group LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and ISO 9001 / ISO 17100 certified provider of interpretation and translation services. We deliver secure, high-quality language access in more than 80 languages for USCIS and other federal agencies.

We are seeking Mam Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Mam is a rare Mayan language of Guatemala, often required for asylum and immigration interviews, making this role critical to mission success.

Responsibilities

Provide real-time Mam English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.

Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and confidentiality in immigration and legal contexts.

Adhere to USCIS / DHS compliance standards and interpreter ethics.

Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent / surge requests.

Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and QA audits.

Qualifications

Native or near-native fluency in Mam and English.

2+ years of interpreting experience (immigration, community, or government preferred).

Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.

Strong telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3 / Tier 5 federal clearance.
