Location : DMV Region (Local Candidates Only)

Industry : Commercial General Contracting

Our client—a respected General Contractor headquartered in Bethesda, MD—is seeking a dynamic Construction Project Executive with an entrepreneurial mindset to lead a business unit and drive strategic growth. This is a high-impact role with full P&L responsibility , overseeing both preconstruction and construction operations . The ideal candidate is a seasoned builder and business leader who excels in ownership, innovation, and delivering results.

🛠️ Your Role & Responsibilities

You’ll lead all phases of project delivery, from concept to closeout, ensuring excellence in execution, client satisfaction, and financial performance.

Preconstruction Leadership :

  • Engage directly with clients, design teams, and stakeholders
  • Develop and present detailed budgets, schedules, and value engineering strategies
  • Oversee subcontractor prequalification, bid packaging, and buyout
  • Deliver compelling client presentations and win work

Construction Execution :

  • Lead project teams to deliver high-quality, safe, and profitable outcomes
  • Foster a culture of accountability, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement
  • Drive operational excellence across multiple concurrent projects

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil / Structural Engineering, or related field (PE license a plus)
  • 15+ years of progressive GC or owner-builder experience, including 5+ years in team leadership
  • Proven success in preconstruction and construction execution
  • Strong relationships with local owners and subcontractors in the DMV
  • Polished communicator with executive presence
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for building and problem-solving
