Certified Medical Coders - Inpatient

Busy acute care hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to join their team. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and compliant coding of medical records for inpatient and emergency department encounters. Responsibilities : Perform coding using ICD-10, ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, and Encoder systems. Apply coding guidelines, payor rules, and federal billing regulations accurately. Maintain knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes to ensure precise coding. Research coding-related issues and support coder training initiatives. Utilize 3M / HDS coding applications for record accuracy and reporting. Qualifications : CCS certification required. Minimum of 3 years of acute care coding experience. Strong proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and coding software. Knowledge of ICD-10 mandatory. Experience in inpatient and emergency department coding preferred.
