Job Description
Interventional Radiology Technician

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position. The Interventional Radiology Technician demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning, and consistently produces radiologic images of diagnostic quality. The technician will work cooperatively with all members of the department to resolve problems expediently and maintain a commitment to customer service.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and prepare patients for examinations and assist Radiologists during procedures.
• Demonstrate competence in the operation of all equipment and report malfunctions to management.
• Complete all assigned procedures in a timely manner while utilizing time between procedures to assist others and support room turnover.
• Maintain medication security and confidentiality in patient care interactions.
• Participate in hospital performance improvement activities as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining good phone etiquette during technical inquiries.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS (American Heart Association ONLY) certification required.
• Two (2) years of experience in the field required.
• NYS License or ability to obtain prior to start required.
• VIR Certification preferred.

Schedule

5x8 hour Days, on call/callback/holiday per unit needs.
