Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with California licensure and strong ICU and neonatal care skills for a day shift contract.

Job Details

  • Work in the Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics unit of an acute care hospital,
  • Patient populations include adult ICU and Level III or higher Neonatal ICU,
  • Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts per week from 7 : 00 am to 7 : 30 pm, with every other weekend required,
  • Must be able to perform advanced mechanical ventilation and respiratory monitoring procedures,
  • Epic EMR is used; Epic experience is preferred,

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program recognized by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC),
  • Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience in an acute care hospital,
  • Extensive experience in adult intensive care and Level III or higher neonatal intensive care required,
  • Active California RCP and RRT credentials required,
  • Current AHA certifications : BLS and NRP required,
  • Must be able to provide copy of all certifications at time of consideration,
  • License required if applicable,

    • Additional Information

  • Role involves comprehensive respiratory assessment, management of mechanical ventilation, and independent participation in infant transport services,
  • Expected to assist with ongoing department tasks such as scheduling, performance improvement, or statistics,
  • Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills are necessary,
  • Orientation modules must be completed during onboarding, with training time varying by specialty,
  • Only one holiday will be approved for time off during the contract,
  • Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of signing,
  • Return staff must have been gone for at least one year to be eligible,
  • Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are accepted at the local rate,
