Position Overview : We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As the second-in-command in our kitchen, the Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee daily operations, ensure the highest quality of food preparation, and maintain a seamless and efficient kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist in the preparation and design of all food and drink menus.
Produce high-quality plates, both in presentation and taste, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish.Stay updated with industry trends and introduce innovative dishes that align with our steakhouse concept.Kitchen Operations :Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely manner that meets our quality standards.
Fill in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary.Oversee and organize kitchen stock and ingredients.Ensure a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verify all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance.Team Leadership :Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedules, and assess staff performance.
Foster a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff members.Health & Safety :Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards.
Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen in accordance with health and safety regulations.Qualifications :
Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a fine dining steakhouse or similar upscale restaurant.Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.Excellent record of kitchen and staff management.Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions.Familiarity with industry best practices.Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS).Culinary school diploma or degree in a related field is a plus.Skills :
