The Licensing Supervisor (Insurance Technician 4) plays a key leadership role within the Producer Licensing and Oversight (PLO) program, part of OIC's Consumer Protection Division. This position directly supports our mission by ensuring that insurance producers, brokers, adjusters, and other licensees meet the high standards of professionalism and integrity that protect consumers and promote a fair marketplace.
As a Licensing Supervisor, you'll lead a dedicated team of licensing specialistscoaching, mentoring, and guiding their work to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. You'll help shape licensing processes, improve operational systems, and serve as a trusted point of contact for industry professionals and the public. Your leadership will help uphold the integrity of Washington's insurance industry and ensure consumers receive the protection they deserve.

Two (2) years of experience as an Insurance Technician 3 or two (2) years of full-time relevant experience performing complex customer service, compliance, or technical assistance at a level comparable to state classifications such as Consumer Program Specialist 1, Customer Service Specialist 3, Program Specialist 2, or Professional Licensing Representative 1.OR
Five (5) years (full-time equivalent) of progressively responsible experience providing customer service or technical assistance in regulated, high-volume, or detail-oriented environments such as insurance, healthcare, utilities, telecommunications, financial services, or similar fields. Additional qualifying educationwill substitute, year for year, for experience.Academic Degree Equivalency Chart :

A degree in business, communications, public administration, or related field from an accredited institution whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council of Higher Education Accreditation, or a foreign equivalent may be substituted for relevant experience. Proof of degree may be required prior to employment. If a degree was awarded outside of the United States, candidates must provide a credential evaluation report.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Intermediate-level skills and experience in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.Ability to accurately type 50 words per minute.Preferred / Desired Qualifications :
Knowledge, experience, and application in enforcing the RCW's and WAC's as they pertain to insurance licensingExperience in a lead, supervisory, mentoring, or training capacity, including assigning, checking, or supporting the work of others.Professional designations through the Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals (AICP), the Council on Licensure, Enforcement, and Regulation (CLEAR), or other insurance regulatory organizations.Advanced-level skills and experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.Ready to join us?
