HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR (Hazmat Low)

Primary Responsibility : Reports directly to Shift Lead, inspect and operates all types of Heavy Equipment Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in support of A / DACG operations, including transportation of HAZMAT loads. Must have a working knowledge of container operations, including container lifting systems. Loads and unloads pallets, supplies, equipment from docks, trucks, K­Loaders and other conveyances. Enforces safety practices and documents all procedures. Complies with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and workplace rules.

Major Functions : Operates the forklift in support of the mission. Performs site surveys and risk assessments to determine safe lifting capacities and a secure environment for / unloading operation. Reports any maintenance or operational discrepancies to the Shift Lead. Performs Daily Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) and maintains equipment logs. Plans and executes the on / offloading of different type of military and commercial containers. Comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and Working Rules. Performs other duties as assigned.
