The Digital Video Producer I is a social-first video editing role on the Digital Video team at ESPN. The candidate will be tasked with the ideation, production, and distribution of high-visibility video content on ESPN-branded digital, social and linear channels, including Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and the ESPN app. The candidate should be well-versed in social media trends, voice, style and subject matter. There will be opportunities to travel, manage a talented team and work on quick-turn situations, longer-form executions and lead projects from start to finish around ESPN’s marquee events in collaboration with the ESPN Social team and external partners. This role requires a strong knowledge of social media content creation, and the ability to monitor and adapt to the evolution of those platforms.
Responsibilities
Ability to work on high-level, short and long-form editing projects that are both unique and outstanding
Ideate and execute edits incorporating multiple elements from different sources to create coherent work
Collaborate with partners to execute industry-leading video content for the biggest events in sports
Become a subject matter expert on all ESPN platforms (From TikTok to TV) and apply that expertise to expand reach, engagement, and distribution of content
Act as content lead for digital video creative team – leading by example with high-level oversight, and clear content direction
Analyze usage and performance metrics that can lead to content enhancements and improvements
Effectively manage production timelines to ensure projects are executed on time
Maintain proficiency and knowledge in latest trends, technology and best practices for digital video content on ESPN platforms including YouTube
Traveling to notable sporting events to produce on-site content for all platforms
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of combined media experience, with a focus on video editing
Advanced non-linear editing skills (Premiere, After Effects)
High-level understanding of Adobe suite of products (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects)
Examples of creating consistent, high-performing creative content
Strong base of current sports knowledge, including teams, players and storylines
Understand and follow closely the latest in social media trends, and apply that knowledge to create improved performance of content
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in editing content, specific to the needs and specs for multiple social media platforms.
Knowledge of Cinema 4D, Unreal, Blender or other 3D software is a plus
Experience managing team of direct reports as well as daily assigning tasks
Experience working with on-camera talent in collaborative, on-site environments
Required Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred Education
College degree in a media related field.

Role requires the ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends to cover the biggest moments in sports when they happen.
