Engineering Manager
Engineering Manager at Kiddom, you will lead a talented group of engineers building user-facing experiences teachers and students love. Collaborate deeply with Design and Product to deliver robust, scalable features through modern web technologies. Foster best practices in accessibility, frontend architecture, and performance optimization, while contributing to a culture of technical excellence and learning.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and grow front-end engineers working with React / TypeScript, Redux, GraphQL, and CSS-in-JS.
- Partner with Product, Design, and other Engineering Managers to plan and execute on Kiddom's user experience vision.
- Establish technical direction for the front-end, driving consistency, scalability, and maintainability of code and UI systems.
- Champion web accessibility standards, internationalization / localization, and responsive design.
- Review and scope architectural decisions, ensuring reliability and performance at scale for U.S. districts and millions of students.
- Mentor developers, provide clear feedback, and create an environment of ownership and continuous learning.
- Encourage innovation while balancing product velocity and technical debt reduction.
- Stay current on evolving web best practices and trends in edtech.
Qualifications
4+ years managing engineering teams focused on modern JavaScript front end (ideally React / TypeScript).8+ years of professional engineering with significant ownership of interactive web products.Proven expertise building, deploying, and optimizing large-scale, data-driven web applications.Strong collaboration skills with Design / Product to ship polished UX / UI.Experience with SPA architectures, performance optimization, browser / dataviz challenges, and security best practices.Empathetic communicator with a track record for growing and retaining high-caliber engineers.Passion for education technology and mission-driven products is a plus.Bonus Points
Experience with internationalization, accessibility, and web standards in the edtech space.Familiarity with AWS, CI / CD tooling, and automated frontend testing.Open-source contributions or technical writing / teaching in frontend engineering.$220,000 - $250,000 a year
Salary range is dependent on geography, past experience, seniority, and demonstrated role related ability during the interview process.
