Retail Operations Job
Hannaford Supermarkets, which started as a local produce vendor in Portland, Maine in 1883, is committed to sourcing local foods and preserving local traditions. The primary purpose of this role is to manage retail operations for the assigned department, impacting store associates, merchandise quality, and customer service. The role involves building associate and customer relations, promoting a culture in support of Hannaford Strategy, and ensuring store conditions are consistently maintained.
Duties and responsibilities include fostering a positive and inclusive environment, managing department operations, ensuring quality standards, hiring and training associates, attaining departmental financial objectives, role modeling customer service, and maintaining accurate records. The position requires a strong understanding of store operations, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to lead and manage associates. A college degree or equivalent is preferred, and certification as a Food Safety Manager is required.
Physical requirements include the ability to use computers and communication systems, lift up to 20 lbs. regularly and up to 60 lbs. occasionally, and meet established volume and activity standards. Preferred requirements include fostering a sales-driven culture, maintaining store appearance, managing performance, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
Salary range is between $18.95 - $27.25 per hour.
