Join Lonza in Vacaville, CA, as a Senior Electrical Engineer. This position reports to the Head of Utilities in the Utilities & Facilities Engineering Department. The Electrical Engineer is a subject matter expert in plant electrical, supports manufacturing, capital projects, and utility operations at the site.

What you will do :

Perform complex power system studies, arc flash analysis, and equipment sizing.

Manage the full project lifecycle from initiation and design through construction, commissioning, and validation.

Apply knowledge of industrial codes, standards, and construction practices to ensure regulatory alignment and project success.

Lead on-site commissioning and startup while providing field engineering support for installation, testing, and troubleshooting.

Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and reports required for project permitting, approvals, and senior management review.

Coordinate with project managers and cross-functional teams to define scope, schedule, budget, and integration requirements.

What we are looking for :

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Minimum 6 years of proven experience in Electrical Engineering.

Experience in utility, manufacturing, energy, GMP environments, and large-scale infrastructure projects is highly preferred.

CA Professional Engineer (PE) registration strongly preferred.

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.

Ability to work under time constraints and deadlines with frequent workload changes and competing demands.
