Mainframe Engineer

Pay Range : $60 - $62 / hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and related technologies.
• Design, configure, and support DB2 databases on z / OS, ensuring high availability and performance tuning.
• Work with Oracle databases for data integration, migration, or interfacing between mainframe and distributed systems.
• Analyze business and system requirements to create effective technical solutions.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing to ensure application stability and data integrity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application developers, QA, and infrastructure teams.
• Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, job schedules, and operational procedures.
• Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience :

The project involves converting DB2 stored procedures to Oracle, so having experience testing that type of migration is important.
