Correctional Mental Health Therapist

CoreCivic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Correctional Mental Health Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of offenders by providing essential mental health services within our facility.

About the Role : As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be responsible for planning and delivering clinical mental health services. Your primary duties will include conducting mental health screenings and assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and providing ongoing counseling and crisis interventions for inmates.

Your expertise in psychological counseling and your commitment to maintaining confidentiality will be vital as you engage with inmates and document treatment activities in their health care records.

Key Responsibilities :

• Conduct mental health screenings and assessments using clinical interviews and available records.
• Develop, implement, and modify individual treatment plans based on the evaluation of inmate needs and functioning levels.
• Document treatment and evaluation activities thoroughly in healthcare records.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive materials and information at all times.
• Utilize knowledge of counseling theory and techniques to provide effective treatments for your caseload.
• Deliver appropriate mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions as needed.

Qualifications :

A Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related clinical area from an accredited college or university.

A minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience, including at least two (2) years in a similar position.

Current certification or licensing in the state of practice (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT).

A valid driver's license is preferred.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
