This position is responsible for running account aging reports; analyzing / researching why specific accounts remain unpaid; working with health plan representatives and other employees to resolve problematic claims, then resolving unpaid claims by either re-billing the services; facilitating a write-off or refund, or by filing an appeal to the third- party payer. Position will also be the first point of contact for department Claims Analysts when questions regarding aging reports, claims, write-offs or third party payers arise.

Pay :  $25-$28 per Hour

Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Runs an aging report on unpaid accounts, re-bill claims, sends out billing statements, and facilitates write-offs, client refunds, and appeals to third  party payers.
  • Mentor and train other claims analyst staff on claim resolution skills and techniques.
  • Performs various collection actions including sending out a variety of collection letters in the mail, setting up payment plans with clients over the phone, monitoring repayment of these payment plans and sending accounts to an outside collection agency.
  • Provides customer service to clients, internal staff, and third-party payers by  researching accounts to determine if the claim was billed correctly by MBH and paid  correctly by the client’s health plan.
  • Working with software vendor to troubleshoot issues, follow -up on revenue cycle support tickets and be an EOSIS program revenue cycle subject expert.
  • Attends staff meetings promptly. Works in a manner that uses time efficiently.
  • Complies with and helps to develop and support standards, policies, procedures, and supervision.
  • Required Skills

    Required :

  • High school graduate or above.
  • Four years’ experience providing billing, reimbursement, or claims management in healthcare setting
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A Minimum of one-year freedom from chemical abuse problems
  • Strong knowledge of third-party payer requirements
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize work; detail oriented Revised : February 2025
  • Flexibility to meet a variety of changing priorities.
  • Computer skills to draft emails, memos, and reporting.
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of people from diverse cultures, socioeconomic and educational backgrounds.
  • Physical Requirement

  • Hearing          100% Ability to hear staff, incoming calls, and callers
  • Vision             100%  Ability to see computer screen and written charts to  document outcomes and obtain data
  • Speaking       100%  Ability to speak to staff and reviewers
  • Sitting             6-8 hours per day
