JOB DESCRIPTION

Diamond Shipping Team Leader

GENERAL PURPOSE :

The Diamond Shipping Team Leader reports to the Shipping Assistant Manager or Manager. Responsible for directing team members in SRK-OH delivery process. Promote associate relations and satisfactorily resolve associate performance issues and concerns. Implement and advance SRK-OH philosophy and uphold its rules, regulations and policies in a fair and equitable manner. Establish and maintain a stable delivery process through 5S, standardization, visual control, and Kaizen to continuously improve safety, quality, delivery and cost through the use of the CA-PDCA cycle.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Operate all types of powered industrial trucks (forklift, reach truck, tug and order picker)
• Create and maintain a safe working environment for all SRK-OH associates
• Follow all safety rules and regulations
• Direct activities of SRK-OH Shipping Associates
• Direct 5S-responsible for the group and maintain high level of plant 5S
• Train and develop as needed
• Coach and counsel
• Responsible for process improvements in safety, quality, scrap, and costs
• Implement SRK-OH philosophy to associates
• Maintain manufacturing and operation standards, key quality check sheets, necessary packaging standards, poke yokes.
• Work with T / L’s, Supervisors and PC to ensure shipping schedules are met
• Lead investigation of customer delivery related claims in shipping to determine root cause and then develop and implement countermeasures
• Work with other departments and Japanese coordinators to achieve above
• Additional duties as assigned
• Ensure proper FIFO rotation of all inventories
• Direct KAIZEN activities for team members
• Stay on task without constant supervision
• Handle adverse situations thoroughly
• Demonstrate cooperation in a constantly changing environment
• All other duties as requested by a person of authority
• Fulfill the physical demands of the position, listed below
• Effective communication with all departments at SRK-OH and external business groups
• Able to perform job responsibilities of both Shipping and Receiving Clerk positions
• Associates at all levels must maintain their Roles and Responsibilities as outlined with SRK-OH’s policies and procedures to ensure compliance with IATF16949, ISO9001 and ISO 14001. These industry standards are necessary to ensure continued Customer Satisfaction in relationship with our philosophy of Continuous Quality Improvement.
