Risk Analyst
Location : New Orleans
About the Role : As a Senior Risk Analyst at First Horizon Bank, you will play a critical role supporting large-scale transformation initiatives aimed at increasing revenue, optimizing expenses, and improving our clients' experience.
You will serve as a key partner to business transformation initiatives, helping to embed first line risk practices and robust controls, and guiding projects through our internal risk assessment process.
Key Responsibilities :
- Partner closely with transformation associates and leadership to ensure risk and control considerations are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the documentation, and monitoring of effective first line risk practices and controls within transformational projects.
- Partner with our compliance and legal teams to safeguard projects from being out of compliance.
- Help move projects efficiently through risk processes by coordinating with relevant stakeholders, preparing submission materials, and managing the risk assessment process.
- Analyze data using SQL, Power BI, and Databricks to identify risk trends, control gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop clear, actionable risk and control recommendations to support project success and ongoing operational excellence.
- Ensure comprehensive and organized risk documentation and provide timely updates to leadership and associates.
- Collaborate with second and third-line risk associates to align on risk policies, standards, and best practices.
- Stay current on regulatory expectations and industry best practices related to risk management in the banking sector.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in finance, Risk Management, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.3+ years of experience in banking risk management, internal controls, or a related analytical role.Strong command of risk and control frameworks, particularly in a banking context.Proficient in writing SQL queries and using analytical tools like Power BI and Databricks.Exceptional organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, with a commitment to proactive collaboration across teams.Experience supporting projects through risk assessment or governance processes is highly desirable.Benefit Highlights :
