Job descriptionStudies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments Ensure all receipts are in by month end Investigates shortages of shipped product and other discrepant shipments Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states Coordinates customer demand requirements with Customer Service, Scheduling, and Shipping Walk floor regularly to check progress and assist when necessary Arranges for special and expedited shipping requirements Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas Compiles records of unfilled orders Posts weight and shipping charges Trains new shipping personnel to assure competency in job performance Prepares bills of lading Any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Materials Manager Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following : Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of the organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 30% Office Environment, 70% Plant Floor (PPE Required)
Job Summary : Supervises and coordinates activities of employees engaged in verifying and keeping records on customer demand and incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment.
Required Education and Experience :
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five years related experience / training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Forklift Operator License
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and inventory management system (CMS)
- Excellent teamwork, leadership, communication, decision making, problem solving, and time management skills
- Must be able to multi-task, work independently, give instructions, learn new technologies, and be detail oriented
- Must have a good knowledge of the English language
- Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949
