Graphic Designer

Summary: Graphic designer is responsible for the creative design and production of assigned projects to include, but not limited to ecommerce digital graphics, product packaging, product merchandising displays, planogram layouts, logos, and retail signage. The designer should have up to date skills and experience in the areas of design techniques and design technology, as well as be able to work in an organized project-oriented manner, with attention to both quality of design and project deadlines.

Graphic Designer role will be located onsite at the Corporate Office in Arlington, TX

Working hybrid model, 4 days/wk. onsite; 1 day/wk. remote

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Responsible for original design solutions, implementation, and execution. Use creative design to help solve complex messaging challenges on packaging, point of purchase materials, displays, and presentation materials, and maintain any current brand guidelines.
2. Support sales, marketing and product management with designs including but not limited to packaging, sell sheets, presentation templates, displays, catalogs, photography, digital, motion & static assets, trade show artwork and other needs.
3. As needed, revise existing package designs when product information or branding message changes.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategy and communicate with appropriate individuals and departments concerning project updates, changes, timelines, and deadlines.
5. Work with the team to maintain the proofing and approval process in Lytho Workflow
6. Research packaging and multimedia tactics are being used in the pet industry and in other related industries to stay on top of emerging trends.
7. Proof all/applicable artwork from the printer and vendors. Supervise the production of color-printed work for best quality on POP labels, packaging, and sales support literature.
8. Research and recommend cost-effective production alternatives for each project and management of the creative production process, from timeline development to finished materials and work with vendors to gain multiple print quotes per project to ensure the lowest costs possible.
9. Attend and prepare for department meetings. Come prepared to discuss current projects, challenges, ideas, and missing items needed to complete project on time and correctly.
10. Participate in project management meetings.
11. When applicable, work with outside designers, photographers, and other vendors in a productive and professional manner.
12. Fulfill image requests from customers. Locate images and submit them to the requester.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience: Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (BFA) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; and 3 years related experience working in graphic design in a consumer goods environment, brand, agency, manufacturer. A strong working knowledge of 4 color process and digital printing, and preparation of artwork for process printing & digital delivery for the ecommerce channel.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must have systematic analytical skills.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have competent knowledge of Current Apple OSX platform, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office Suite, experience and knowledge with AI, 3D, video & motion software a plus.
