American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery / Postpartum position in an LDRP setting requiring a NC or compact RN license and at least two years of relevant experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery and Postpartum unit supporting an average of 4 to 6 patients per dayUnit includes 8 labor rooms, 3 triage rooms, 1 OR suite, and 1 PACUPatient ratios follow AWHONN Staffing Guidelines : 1 : 2 for inactive labor, 1 : 1 for active labor, and 1 : 3-4 for coupletsCare for labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn patientsNight shift position working from 1900-0700, 36 hours per weekEvery other weekend rotation requiredNo on-call responsibilitiesTravelers must work 75% of holidaysFloating required to Region 3 facilities within scope of practice : Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, LCH)Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV Pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and fetal monitoring equipmentResponsibilities include managing labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care, including triage and C-section circulationTeam infrastructure includes a 24 / 7 charge nurse, resource nurse when available, 24 / 7 RT and hospitalist for newborn careTwo days of departmental orientation provided in addition to facility orientationGreen hospital-issued scrubs requiredFree parking available for staffStrong teamwork culture prevalent in the unitTime off requests up to 6 days may be approved but do not include holidays; additional time off requires contract extension\n \n Requirements\n
Active NC or compact RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience with ability to work in LDRPCurrent certifications required : BLS, ACLS, EFM, NRPMust have skills in labor management, cesarean section circulation, pre-op, PACU, triage, newborn resuscitation, Pitocin and epidural managementEpic EMR experience preferredFirst-time travelers are not accepted for this role\n Benefits\n
