Job Description

Job Title : Radiologic Technologist

Profession : Tech

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in a relevant role

License : IEMA Radiography License

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, Radiography (ARRT)

Must-Have :

• Capacity to learn and retain information regarding patient care and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions, and complete detailed work accurately.
• Demonstrates compassion and caring in dealing with others.
• Manual dexterity to handle small supplies.

Description :

Administers contrast material according to physician's request by means of existing vascular access point.

Recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.

All functions and duties will be under the direct supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist.

Assists with inventory and supplies.

Checks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.

Compiles pertinent clinical information related to lab and pathology.

Assists in the instruction of new staff as necessary.

Documents accurately and completely according to established policies and procedures.

Explains procedures to patients and provides for patient care, including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.

Performs all essential functions of the Radiologic Technologist.

Performs on-call duties and / or works variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs.

Able to work around and maintain a sterile field during procedures.

Administers and withholds contrast and treatment as appropriate.

Assesses patients for allergies.

Can pull supplies for procedures.

Takes call within 6 months.

Involves procedures including left heart catheterization, right heart catheterization, pericardiocentesis, and vascular access under sterile procedures.

Handles structural heart procedures including TAVR, Watchman, Mitraclip, Triclip, ASD / PFO, and CardioMEMS.

Carries out hybrid peripheral vascular work in coordination with vascular surgery including EVAR, TCAR, and TEVAR.

Uses adjunctive tools to complete various procedures including ICUS, FFR / iFR, Lithotripsy, Laser, Rota, Impella, IABP, OCT, and CTO.

Experience with peripheral vascular work, venous central lines, tube changes, neuro procedures, embolization work, and venous thrombectomy is preferred.

Previous Radiologic Technology experience in a procedural setting is preferred.

Experience with Interventional Client is preferred.
