Workforce Solutions partners directly with teams looking to hire top talent. We are currently working with a family-owned manufacturing company seeking an Inventory Specialist to join their team in Madison, WI .
What's the role?
The Inventory Specialist plays a key role in maintaining accurate and efficient inventory levels to support production operations within a warehouse environment. This position is responsible for verifying materials against production orders, managing material movement, organizing storage systems, and ensuring data integrity in inventory systems. The Inventory Specialist will also provide backup support for shipping functions, assisting with order fulfillment and shipment preparation as needed.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments to ensure smooth production and logistics operations.
What experience and skills do I need to be successful?
1–3 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or related roles
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred
Experience working with inventory management or ERP systems
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies
Effective communication and collaboration with purchasing, production, logistics, and sales teams
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Team-oriented, adaptable, and proactive in addressing challenges
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching in a warehouse setting
Exposure to warehouse conditions including noise, dust, and temperature variations
Ability to operate pallet jacks, forklifts (if certified), and other warehouse equipment preferred
Adherence to all safety protocols and PPE requirements
Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends to meet production deadlines

What will my schedule look like?
This is a full-time, onsite position working Monday through Friday during standard warehouse hours, with occasional overtime as needed.
