American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with at least 2 years of ICU experience and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications for a float pool position in a Level III Trauma Center.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital float pool covering ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, and ED holding unitsPrimary assignments may include ICU and ED holding areas with mixed patient diagnosesICU patient population includes respiratory failure, GI bleeds, DKA, sepsis, stroke, and post-arrestICU nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1 : 2 based on acuityShift is 12-hour days, schedule provided 3 weeks at a timeMay be required to float within scope of practice to other units or provide partial shift coverageUses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systemFirst-time travelers are accepted for this position2 days hospital orientation and additional unit-specific training providedSupport staff includes techs, 24 / 7 respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and intensivistsMust demonstrate flexibility, resourcefulness, and strong teamworkProfessional scrubs in any color except camo are requiredNo on-call or holiday requests; all time off must be approved in advance and added to end of assignmentCustomer service, hourly rounding, bedside reporting, and medication safety protocols are strictly enforcedBreaks are required and phone use is prohibited on the unit\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or compact RN license in hand or proof of application for considerationMinimum 2 years of recent ICU experience requiredCertifications required : ACLS, BLS, NIHSSStrong cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent management, and invasive line management skillsExperience with Epic EMR preferredMust complete telemetry competency prior to startingExcellent communication and patient education skills are expected\n Benefits\n
