DENTAL HYGIENIST POSITION SUMMARY

The Dental Hygienist will be responsible for delivering oral care that includes prophylaxis under the supervision of a Dentist. Responsibilities also include educational and organizational work to promote oral hygiene.

DENTAL HYGIENIST SCHEDULE

DENTAL HYGIENIST MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Fluency in English, including reading, writing, and comprehension.

A supportive team player who exemplifies teamwork and collaboration.

Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.

Skills to tactfully interact with personnel, family members, visitors, and the public.

Leadership qualities with the ability to supervise and work well with others.

Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

DENTAL HYGIENIST ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform scaling and polishing of teeth and roots, remove sutures, take study models, polish amalgam restorations, and place / removal of rubber dams.

Assist the dentist with administering fluoride treatments and provide proper dental hygiene instruction.

Develop and implement oral hygiene education programs for patients.

Support the dentist in completing diagnostic x-rays and record all treatment information accurately in the dental record.

Initiate and maintain a recall program for inmates needing additional instructions and treatments, ensuring follow-up prophylaxis as required.

Check, maintain, and order instruments, equipment, and supplies as necessary.

Ensure appropriate cleaning, packaging, and sterilization of instruments.

Conduct dental assessments as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Attend training and meetings as required.

Compensation details : $51-51 Hourly Wage
