Position
Summary :
Assist in the nursing care of patients in the
Emergency Center. Provides wound care and splints as required.
Provide a safe, clean environment and stocks patient care areas.
Ensures adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and
procedures. Patient care assignment may include Neonate, Pediatric,
Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric age
groups.
Detailed
responsibilities :

TRANSPORT - Transport patients to other units or to in-patient
testing areas
and development through participation in educational programs,
reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and
workshops
approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve
patient safety through questioning of current policies and
processes
environmental conditions and / or situations that may put a patient
at undue risk
actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and / or near misses
in a timely manner
established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives,
continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety,
environmental, and / or infection control standards
make photocopies; run errands; perform other support duties as
assigned
and transport specimens, equipment, supplies, charts and materials
to include arterial blood gas specimens
asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they
don't understand or may "not seem right"
Clean patient care rooms, equipment and instruments; report
equipment problems; order and store supplies; maintain appropriate
PAR levels
staff / physicians in complicated treatment procedures; perform
routine treatment procedures
assess clinical situations beyond their scope and promptly notifies
a nurse and / or physician
provision of administrative support in regards to equipment
maintenance, calibration and statistical data
compilation
of observation unit patients
Establish and maintain good rapport and effective working
relationships with patients, visitors, physicians and Hospitals
employees
according to medical protocol under the direct supervision of RN or
physician
required
setup, catheterization, apply cardiac monitor and other duties as
assigned under the supervision of RN or attending physician as
requested
