Job Description
The Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a dedicated, patient-centered Family Medicine Physician to join an outpatient practice in Poughkeepsie, NY. The successful candidate will provide high-quality ambulatory care, emphasize disease prevention and early detection, and support the practice’s mission of clinical excellence, education, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient medical care to adult patients, including diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and long-term management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Perform preventive care and early detection activities (screenings, risk assessment, patient education).
- Coordinate care with specialists, primary care teams, and allied health professionals to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation and use electronic health records in accordance with institutional policies.
- Participate in quality improvement and initiatives.
- Contribute to clinical teaching and mentoring of medical students, residents, and other trainees as part of the academic affiliation.
- Support practice operations, including patient flow, clinic scheduling, and performance metrics.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.Demonstrated excellence in clinical care; prior teaching experience preferred.NY medical license (or eligible) and DEA registration (or eligible).What We Offer
