Family Medicine Physician

Job Description

The Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a dedicated, patient-centered Family Medicine Physician to join an outpatient practice in Poughkeepsie, NY. The successful candidate will provide high-quality ambulatory care, emphasize disease prevention and early detection, and support the practice’s mission of clinical excellence, education, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient medical care to adult patients, including diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and long-term management of acute and chronic conditions.
• Perform preventive care and early detection activities (screenings, risk assessment, patient education).
• Coordinate care with specialists, primary care teams, and allied health professionals to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation and use electronic health records in accordance with institutional policies.
• Participate in quality improvement and initiatives.
• Contribute to clinical teaching and mentoring of medical students, residents, and other trainees as part of the academic affiliation.
• Support practice operations, including patient flow, clinic scheduling, and performance metrics.
