Job Duties

This is a restricted position, which is partially funded by the CDC Oral Health Outcomes for a 12-month period ending on August 31, 2026. date. The availability of funding is scheduled for review before the grant expiration date and periodically thereafter. Continued employment is contingent on the continued availability of funds.

This position enhances the agency's public dental health efforts by leading and managing the delivery of preventive dental services in community-based settings statewide.

This role provides direct staff supervision, including setting expectations, assigning and reviewing work, resolving personnel issues, conducting evaluations, and ensuring appropriate training and support. The position involves comprehensive program management, including coordinating and ensuring proper implementation of public dental health activities, delivering training, and promoting dental program acceptance and referrals, as well as serving as a liaison to external partners. Applying project management principles, this position will develop work plans, monitor progress, and ensure the timely submission of high-quality reports and deliverables. Administrative responsibilities include contributing to grant applications and legislative reports and tracking and reporting on progress toward goals and objectives. This position will also support strategic planning efforts, working closely with multi-sector stakeholders to identify priorities, develop strategies, and assess the impact of new policies, procedures, regulations. Staff carry out many of their responsibilities independently following broad parameters set forth by grants and program goals and objectives with limited supervisory involvement.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience managing a multi-disciplinary statewide program, including developing goals and evaluating progress

Experience working in a supervisory capacity, including experience in performance management and employee relations

Experience with grant management

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Additional Considerations

Experience working with and managing a dental program
