$70 / hr - $75 / hr with $180,000 conversion at 6 months
THE HIGH LEVEL
The Solutions Architect will serve as the technical team lead for providing subject matter expertise and insight on systems engineering, cloud, networking, automation, virtualization, and security technologies. Emphasis on designing advanced large‑scale DoD solutions involving the latest developments in these technologies.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Serve as the lead technical expert for a program with multiple engineering direct reports, both native and subcontractors
Responsible for leading and mentoring engineers with a focus on systems engineering, cloud, networking, automation, virtualization, and security technologies and the development of their technical and soft skills
Ensure consistent engineering standards across high‑level and low‑level designs, drawings, and other technical documentation
Manage solution development and deployment adhering to best practices and meeting customer expectations
Ability to assign team members with verifiable and detailed tasks that culminate in moving engineering processes forward
Interface with internal and external POCs on technical matters related to the program
Writing and editing of detailed engineering deliverables in support of program deliverables
Reviewing current customer environment to ensure delivery of new communications stacks are 100% interoperable and compliant with all DoD IT requirements
Tackle critical customer escalations as primary technical point of contact for the program
Actively research, evaluate and drive next‑gen networking and security technologies and solutions to solve customer needs
Develop and deliver technical proposals, whitepapers and slide presentations
Effectively work independently and in a team environment
Building and developing relationships with strategic partner community
Responsible for enablement of sales, delivery team and Iron Bow partners as well as developing collateral as it relates to solutions and offerings within the program cloud marketplace
Responsible for answering, prioritizing and balancing requests for technical support from multiple customer, partner, and internal stakeholders
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
Minimum of 10 - 15 years of focused engineering experience on networking and security technologies and solutions within a DISA environment
10+ years of networking and security related design and deployment experience
10+ years of hands‑on experience with Juniper Networks design and implementation
5+ years of experience working in a highly automated environment and familiar with various concepts and tools that drive network automation
5+ years of experience working with F5 BIG‑IP load balancing technology
5+ years of experience working with public cloud networking and security technologies
Ability to architect advanced network and solutions at multiple levels of the enterprise including virtualized environments
Hands‑on experience with hybrid cloud architectures, public cloud deployment and operations, technical and security architecture, virtualization, workload assessments, and technical solution architecture
Experience with diagraming tools such as Visio for demonstrating engineering designs
Ability to thrive in a self‑directed, fast‑paced environment, that is highly collaborative and multi‑functional
Deep understanding of the latest technologies, security issues, and protocols
Minimum Secret security clearance
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
JNCIE Enterprise or Security, CISSP, CCIE Enterprise or Security highly desired
Must be eligible to maintain Top Secret security clearance if required
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position has a strong preference for candidates based in Montgomery, AL, Columbus, OH, Mechanicsburg, PA, or Huntsville, AL area
