The Certified Medical Assistant provides essential nursing care to patients under the guidance of a physician, nurse, and / or the Practice Manager, while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor. The CMA also supports various tasks within the medical office and satellite locations. Certification from a nationally recognized agency is mandatory.Key Responsibilities :
Prepare visit sheets and necessary documents for patient appointments, ensuring everything is ready ahead of time.Welcome patients and escort them to the exam room. Gather and document vital signs, patient histories, current medications, and primary complaints.Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.Ensure timely, professional, and accurate documentation.Process diagnostic imaging and laboratory requisitions correctly, linking approved diagnoses for every test.Provide and record patient education, including medication instructions.Inform patients of test results and physician comments / instructions once reviewed.Handle incoming calls.Schedule appointments for patients as directed.Assist with filing laboratory, x-ray, and dictation reports in patient charts or organize for scanning.Cross-train as a Receptionist for Medical Arts / Satellite offices.Support consulting specialty physicians (Cardiology, Urology, Orthopedic, Spine, etc.) and their staff.Check and restock physician and nursing exam rooms daily.Review and sort incoming lab / outpatient test results to send to the appropriate physician for assessment.Certification from a nationally recognized agency is essential.CPR (BLS) certification is required or must be achievable upon hire.Flexibility to work at any of the satellite offices is necessary.Experience in venipuncture is preferred.Availability for Saturday morning shifts is required.Background and Drug Screen Disclaimer :
