Job Description :

The Estimator II is responsible for independently preparing portions of estimates and supporting senior estimators in the development of complete project budgets and bids.

This position requires a solid understanding of estimating principles, subcontractor relations, and construction processes, with the ability to handle estimates of moderate complexity.

The Estimator II will play an important role in ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and consistency of cost proposals.

Typical job duties include :

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and estimates for assigned scopes of work.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other project documents to support accurate pricing.
• Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Assist in preparing general conditions and project staffing requirements.
• Support preparation of project schedules and logistics plans.
• Perform cost comparisons, benchmarking, and value analysis on assigned projects.
• Maintain accurate cost history and unit pricing data.
• Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to review and finalize estimates.
• Participate in client and subcontractor meetings as needed to support estimate reviews.
• Demonstrate proficiency with estimating software and digital tools, including BuildingConnected, BlueBeam (or PlanSwift) and MS Excel.
• Assist in mentoring and providing guidance to Estimator I and preconstruction staff.
• Participate in site visits to improve understanding of construction means, methods, and cost impacts.
