Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position with high-acuity PCU experience and night shifts required.
Responsibilities
Work in a comprehensive cancer center with 318 acute care bedsUnit specializes in oncology, including BMT, acute leukemia, hematology, medical oncology, gynecological oncology, urology, colorectal, surgical oncology, and corrections healthcareFloating to both MedSurg and PCU Oncology units as neededPatient ratios in PCU are 1 : 3, may be 1 : 4 with mixed acuity; MedSurg Tele typically 1 : 4, up to 1 : 5Self-scheduling requests are taken before balancing and posting the final scheduleNight shifts (3x12 hours, 19 : 00–7 : 30) with variable weekends based on unit needsFirst week orientation is Monday–Friday dayshift, followed by five bedside orientation shifts over weeks 2 and 3Strict adherence to infection prevention protocols and patient fall guidelines is expectedMust complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signingFirst week includes structured day shift orientation followed by bedside orientationFormer employees must have been away from the facility for six months to be eligibleCurrent employees at any Ohio State University hospital are ineligible for traveler positionsLocals are accepted at the same rate as travelersAll requests for time off must be submitted before contract finalizationRequirements
Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of considerationMinimum 2 years of recent high-acuity PCU or higher-level experience requiredACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are requiredEducation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program requiredOncology experience preferred but not requiredTwo professional references required, including one from a manager, director, or supervisorBenefits
