Job Title : Soldering Technician
Summary : Assembles cable and wire harness assemblies, box builds, kitting and other productscompletely from start to finish by performing the following tasks and duties under indirect supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Reads work orders, follows production documentation and / or sample assemblies, and / or receivesverbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
- Performs the following tasks : labeling, wire cutting, stuffing, crimping, bag and tag, soldering,potting, IDC, SCSI, heat shrink, pc board soldering, backshelling, harnessing, harness boardconstruction, box builds, kitting, create wire lists, "special projects", continuity testing, and pinextraction.
- Assist in the QMS and the commitment for continuous improvement.
Knowledge / Skills
Knowledge IPC 610 / 620, J-STD-001 certification preferredMust have good hand / eye coordination and the ability to use microscopesAttention to detail / must be able to read and interpret blueprintsFor color coding purposes, must distinguish colors.Ability to use hand tools- long nose pliers, side cutter, and soldering iron.Capable of following both verbal and written instructionsAbility to compute measurements accuratelyEducation / Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent manufacturing work related experience1-2 years experience in electro- mechanical assemblyBasic Computer skills requiredPhysical Demands :
The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required bythis job include Close vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly requiredto use have good manual dexterity and prolonged sitting in the work station
