Job Summary :
The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing radiographic imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and maintaining accurate patient records. This role involves verifying patient information, operating X-ray equipment, explaining procedures, and producing high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation. The technologist must also adhere to safety protocols, maintain equipment, and collaborate with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities :
- Verify patient identity and physician orders before X-ray procedures.
- Use X-ray equipment to take radiographic images of bones, tissues, and organs.
- Explain X-ray procedures to patients and answer their questions.
- Position patients, including lifting and moving those with limited mobility.
- Handle radiologic equipment safely, minimizing patient dose.
- Observe patient status and interpret age-specific needs.
- Produce diagnostic, high-quality images for radiologist interpretation.
- Promptly report damaged or malfunctioning X-ray equipment.
- Utilize electronic patient information systems for verification and documentation.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring proper image identification and PACS system transmission.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
Required Skills & Certifications :
Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).NYS license (or ability to obtain before starting).BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)Minimum 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience.Experience using c-arm / o-arm in the past 8 months.Ability to report within 30 minutes to on-call shifts.Preferred Skills & Certifications :
Level 1 trauma center experience.Special Considerations :
On-call responsibilities, callbacks, and holiday work per unit needs.Must be able to report within 30 minutes for on-call shifts.Scheduling :
