We are looking for a Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulation specialist with knowledge of ANSYS structural software packages. This is a remote position.
What will you be responsible for?
The Rand Simulation business model leverages a collaborative approach, combining the analysis expertise of our simulation consultants with the design expertise of our clients. Our goal as the simulation experts is to serve as an extension of our client's team to empower impactful performance insight through simulation to drive informed design decisions.
You will be responsible for leveraging advanced-level engineering principles so not only execute on consulting projects, but also to assist Rand Simulation's account managers with scoping and leading customers to solutions..
You will be responsible for leveraging advanced-level engineering knowledge and relationships to support Rand SIM's account managers with significant impact on revenue goals, as well as for helping customers to solve complex engineering problems using ANSYS software products.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Primary role of the consulting engineer is to act as lead on specific consulting projects with responsibility of running simulations for clients, leading design review meetings, interpreting results and suggesting recommended design modifications based on simulation findings and industry design knowledge.
- Staying up to date with ANSYS platforms and expanding knowledge of ANSYS tools through trainings and self-guided education to enable expansion into additional consulting industries.
- Interfacing with Rand Simulation sales and business development teams on ANSYS simulation consulting opportunities to provide technical guidance, credibility, and subject matter expertise.
- Analyze prospect and customer technical needs, requirements, infrastructure, operations, and engineering workflows as it relates to services engagements to ensure an application fit and create / demonstration recommended simulation solutions.
- Articulate ANSYS' value proposition primarily around the business unit solutions for consulting services.
- Work with RandSim marketing team to generate blog posts, white papers, webinars, and other content related to key initiatives for your team and consulting services.
- Occasionally provide ANSYS training (basic and customized), mentoring, account follow-up and technical support to assist clients in the adoption and ROI of their ANSYS technology investment.
Who are we looking for?
M.S. / B.S. / B.A. in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Physics, or similar discipline4 years + of mechanical or structural engineering / design experience4 years + of FEA / structural analysis experience with ANSYS MechanicalLS-Dyna experience strongly desired
Ansys Motion , Adams, or similar Multibody Dynamics experience strongly desirednCode or other specialized fatigue code experience strongly desiredExperience using Altair, FEMAP / NX, MSC / PATRAN, Autodesk Nastran, Simulation Mechanical / Algor, COMSOL, Abaqus, Simulia, or similar codes a plusProven experience with multiple structural analysis methods (rigid body dynamics, transient analyses, nonlinear static / transient, modal, linear dynamics, etc.)Experience with multiphysics, fatigue, and explicit dynamics strongly desiredExperience with MAPDL and / or Python coding strongly desiredKnowledge of underlying FEA principles such as linear algebra, partial differential equations, etc.Extensive proficiency in 3D CAD systems (Inventor and / or SolidWorks preferred)Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to facilitate and conduct webinars and presentations to customersA logical problem-solving approach and ability to clearly communicate the situation and proposed solution to a customerA self-starter and motivator with an engaging personality and strong energyAbility to manage time effectively while balancing multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work directly with clients and clearly articulate findings and design recommendationsAbility to work diligently alone when needed, but knows when to seek helpHighly developed learning and thinking ability with direct client-facing experienceRegistered Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred, but not mandatoryWillingness to travel up to 10%What do we stand for?
