Job Title : Crewperson 4 - Building Repair
Position Function : The Building Repair crewperson is directly responsible to the Supervisor. Possess exceptional knowledge and demonstrate remarkable skills in the designated job area. Ability to carry out assignments and perform excellent quality work with minimum supervision. Demonstrate outstanding qualities in efficiency, initiative and dependability when completing various tasks.
Employee Punctuality and Appearance :
- In order for schools to operate effectively, employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday, unless the employee has received approved leave
- Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee's supervisor or building administrator
- All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of USD 259 and is appropriate for their position
Additional Duties : Assist with additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Equipment : The employee must demonstrate the ability to use various equipment assigned to the position as needed. This position may require the ability to use iPads in addition to basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine. Employees must always comply with WPS guidelines for equipment use. Use hand tools of trade and related power equipment. Other tools that may be used include but are not limited to hand tools, clamps, shop-vac, table saw, power tools, tape measures, band saws, belt sanders, radial saws, genie lifts, ladders, tile rollers, dolly, floor jacks, tile saws, brick saws, mason mixers and scaffolds.
Travel : Travel between schools and to central offices will be required.

Perform work in a safe manner and report any hazardous conditionsAssist in maintaining good public relations, being cognizant that a Crewperson represents both the Facilities Division and the Wichita Public SchoolsCooperate with other employees and maintain good public relations inside and outside his / her assignmentWillingness to be trained in all phases of assignments and increase his / her skills, thus, qualifying for advancementPossess a work ethic that is strongly oriented toward both efficiency and customer serviceMaintain appropriate licenses and certifications including a valid Kansas driver's license at all times throughout employmentPossess superior knowledge of procedures, materials and equipment utilized in the designated area while displaying good workmanship, planning, and leadershipSupport the organizational goals, the mission of the School Service Center and the districtWork cooperatively with others and assist in maintaining open lines of communicationWork directly or indirectly under the SupervisorDaily schedule may fluctuate to accommodate deadlines and delivery of servicesAttendance at required meetings and in-servicesLearn and perform a variety of tasks which include but are not limited to : floor tile repair / replacement, repair / replacement of T bar ceilings, 12x12 glue up and all other types of ceilings, install wood or metal stud framing, install wood or metal doors and jambs, ceramic and quarry tile replacement / repair, all types of plaster repair, sheetrock installation / finish ready for paint, proficient in the use of some intricate leveling devices.Perform mandatory snow removal.Display good quality workmanship, planning and self-motivationMust be willing to learn from other crew membersPerform work in a safe manner and report any hazardous conditionsQualification Profile :
A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.Asbestos class 1 license is required (class to be provided by the District).Must be able to wear a respiratorMaintain a valid Kansas driver's license at all times throughout employmentSecond and / or third shift is required approximately from August through May.FLSA Status : Non-Exempt
