Salary : $28-$40 / hr DOE
Starting Arts is looking for several part time specialized teaching artists in music and theatre and for the 2025-2026 school year. Teaching assignments will vary through the school year and teaching artists will be utilized for during school and after school assignments (including theatre productions). Teaching Credentials are NOT required, but teaching credentialed candidates are welcome.

Responsibilities Include :
Collaboration on planning, developing, and implementing lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of VAPA standardsAdaptability that reflects accommodations for differences in student abilities and learning stylesEstablishing and maintaining effective professional open communication with students, teachers, and administratorsParticipating in staff professional development activitiesAbiding by the staff handbook, all policies, procedures, laws, and state / federal regulationsPerforming other duties as assignedRequired Skills / Qualities :
High School diplomaKnowledge of curriculum and instructionAbility to effectively manage a classroom and student behaviorAbility to communicate effectively with othersSkill in modifying instruction for various student needsAbility to work with various forms of equipment including, but not limited to, personal computers, calculators, projectors, and printersAbility to work with computer tools, including but not limited to, email, internet, word processing and spreadsheetsAbility to work in collaborative team-based environmentsAbility to adapt and be flexibleAbility to stay calm under pressurePreferred Skills / Qualities :
3+ years of teaching experience in a formal school setting with referencesBachelor's degreeCompensation :
The compensation range is based on teaching credentials (non-credentialed vs. credentialed teachers), working experience, academic degrees, and certifications.
