JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title : Secondary Science AP Teacher

Reports to : Head of School

Shift Type : Full Time Position

Contract Term : 10 Months

Location : Islamic School of Irving

PRIMARY PURPOSE :

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject areas assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual emotional physical and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in a global society.

QUALIFICATIONS : Minimum Education / Certification :

• Bachelors Degree; a Masters degree or a closely related field is a plus. (US Degree equivalency of overseas degree must be submitted)
• Preferably a valid Texas teaching certificate from an accredited college or university
• Ability to work well with all stakeholders
• Proficiency in basic computer applications
• Minimum of one year of successful teaching in a public or private school in a related field in the US or at least one (1) year of student teaching or an approved internship
• Preference for candidates with degrees from accredited US colleges / universities
• Experience in teaching honors / APCompuer Scienceand AP Calculus coursesare a plus
