Responsibilities Provide care in a 20-bed Med / Surg unit within a 25-bed critical access hospital Unit shares beds with ICU; ICU has 3 beds Typical census is 8-10 patients Nurse to patient ratio ranges from 1 : 4-5 on days / evenings to 1 : 6-7 on evenings / nights 12-hour variable shifts with every other weekend and holiday required Occasional floating to other departments or nearby locations such as Merrill, Wausau, Stanley, and Langlade, assisting with non-patient load tasks Epic charting experience is preferred Role may include assisting in other units but not carrying a patient assignment while floating No on-call or call back requirements for scheduled shifts Any clean, professional scrubs are acceptable Travelers may be placed on call for low census but will not carry patient assignments if floated Expectation to cover every other holiday as part of the schedule Requirements Active WI or compact RN license Current BLS certification required Minimum of 2 years RN experience in a hospital setting Ability to read telemetry strips ED or ICU experience is highly beneficial Must live outside a 50 mile radius from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-629235.
