As a Construction Manager , you will be responsible for coordinating daily work activities between Resident Project Representatives (Inspectors), Project Engineers, and Project Managers for projects throughout the State of Indiana. You will train, mentor, and oversee inspection staff, monitor project schedules, assist with cost management, assemble and review project documentation, ensure open communication between project members, assist with risk management, and monitor quality assurance throughout the construction phase. Additionally, you will forecast project activities and serve as an overall project liaison between the Owner, Engineer, and Contractors during construction.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and oversight to construction inspectors and assist with job site inspections as-needed.
- Facilitate and conduct regularly scheduled construction meetings.
- Coordinate with the contractors to schedule inspection activities and resolve field issues.
- Manage construction efforts including leadership of field staff and coordinating work with various project team members to meet deadlines and maintain budgets.
- Coordinate and track multiple project activities and plan staffing requirements for projects to ensure adequate coverage.
- Oversee validation of products and materials ordered for projects to verify their conformance to specifications.
- Ensure federal, state and local regulations for construction procedures are followed.
- Assist in the development and refinement of inspection procedures, training programs, safety protocols, and performance metrics.
Qualifications / Skills
B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction ManagementMinimum of 10 years experience in construction management (or similar role)Minimum of 5 years of staff oversight and management experienceUnderstanding of bidding, estimating, and risk assessmentAbility to read / interpret project drawings and specificationsAbility to multitask and carry out projects with tight deadlinesAbility to travel / valid driver's license is required (company vehicle will be provided)Familiarity with federally-funded infrastructure is a plusExperience with Procore is a plusStrong work ethic and organizational skillsProfessional Engineer Certification is desiredBenefits
