Drug and Alcohol Specialist

Responsibilities include the following :

• Provide support and instruction to participants in their recovery process by using harm reduction and motivational interviewing techniques.
• Maintain and submit all required documentation, on a timely basis, including individual Participant files, rehabilitation plans, progress notes, discharge summaries and after care plans / supports, in accordance with agency standards and licensing regulations.
• Maintain productivity standards by submitting service documents reflecting a minimum of billable service units per day.
• Assess and document Participants' behaviors in relation to progress, growth and overall involvement in treatment.
• Develop individual recovery / treatment plans with Participants and discuss with team; review Participant progress and needs during case consultations and interface with local community and area services providers / agencies to facilitate program cooperation and / or alternate resources to current plans.
• Provide psycho educational information as appropriate to the Participants' needs.

Requirements :

Some knowledge of multiple support systems for substance abusers.
