Lead Growth for a Category-Defining Portfolio
Shibaura Machine Company, America (Illinois-based since 1975; wholly owned by Shibaura Machine Co., Ltd.) manufactures and delivers premium industrial machinery. We’re hiring a U.S. Sales Director to scale revenue and market share for our Nano Processing equipment across high-precision markets including automotive optics and medical.
Primary Impact Areas
Own national sales targets and territory strategies.
Direct and develop the inside sales organization.Establish and optimize a North American dealer network with senior leadership.Business DevelopmentIdentify new revenue streams through market research and competitive intelligence.
Advance deals by building relationships with executive decision-makers.Coordinate cross-functional support for machine deliveries and superior service.Channel & Account ExcellenceEducate internal reps and dealers via meetings, workshops, and web conferences.
Set territory-specific objectives; monitor performance; coach and recalibrate as needed.Run periodic opportunity reviews with internal teams and channel partners to drive orders.Sales OperationsLeverage CRM and CPQ for pipeline discipline and precise quoting.
Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts with status reporting.Contribute to sales policy and pricing control aligned with company standards.Perform credit research and customer analyses; support finance on collections and payment follow-ups.Technical & Brand LeadershipLead technical sales engagements to elevate product understanding internally and externally.
Activate social media (LinkedIn, X, Instagram) to expand awareness and engagement.Partner with divisional teams to craft brochures, spec sheets, and competitor comparisons.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.8+ years in high-precision equipment sales with emphasis on automotive optics and medical.Demonstrated strength in customer service and relationship building.Travel-ready on short notice; occasional international travel required.Valid passport; valid, unrestricted driver’s license with clean record (no DUIs).Adequate financial resources or credit capacity to cover travel expenses pending reimbursement.Microsoft Office proficiency (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).Proficiencies : Driver's License, Customer Service, Bachelor's Degree, Territory Sales, Microsoft Excel.Travel & Environment
Up to 70% travel across the territory, with occasional trips throughout the Americas and overseas.Working Conditions :

These facilities may have certain standards, which all vendors must meet to gain access, including the requirement for drug, background, and health screening.
